FAQ
Before you start
What the site does, what it costs (nothing), and what an account adds.
What is Astral Terminal?
Astral Terminal is a toolkit for gacha games. You give it the UID of a game account and it reads that account's public Character Showcase - the builds, the artifacts, the weapons - scores them, and ranks them against everyone else who has submitted the same character.
The data comes from Enka.Network, which serves what the game itself already publishes. So: only the characters you have placed in your in-game Character Showcase are visible, and your showcase has to be set to public in your in-game profile settings for anything to come back at all.
Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail are the only games open right now. The other icons above are games that may be added later. They carry a SOON badge until then.
How do I use this?
Pick a game from the row of icons above (Genshin is used as the example here).
Type the UID and press ENTER. Your UID is the number in the bottom-right corner of the game screen - not your username.
You land on that account's Characters tab. The tabs across the top carry the rest: Artifacts (the piece-by-piece scorer), Leaderboards (where each build places), and an Overview.
UIDs you have looked up are remembered in the search box, so the second visit is one click. That list lives in your browser, and CLEAR HISTORY at the bottom of the dropdown wipes it.
Two things that surprise people
Live scans are rate-limited. The same UID can only be pulled fresh from the game every couple of minutes. In between, you see the last reading instead of an error.
The showcase holds 8 characters. We keep more than that. Everything ever scanned for a UID is kept and merged into the Characters tab, so a build does not vanish because someone reshuffled their showcase. Rotate your showcase, scan again, and the roster grows. Readings taken at different times are labelled as such.
None of the above needs an account. There is also a guided tour that walks you through the site panel by panel - that one does need an account, because it remembers where you stopped. Once you are signed in it is in the menu in the top-right corner, under “Take the tour”.
No UID to hand? or open the . Both are open to everyone.
Do I need an account? What do I get for it?
No - not to look anything up. Scanning a UID, reading builds, scoring artifacts, browsing leaderboards and using the calculators all work signed out, and they always will.
An account is for the parts that have to remember who you are:
A dashboard. Your game accounts on one screen, arranged how you like, with the scanner and the trackers beside them.
An Astral Profile - a public page that is you from all games rather than a game account: linked UIDs, best placements, a status quote, badges, and a link you can share.
Up to 3 UIDs per game, linked to your profile so you stop typing them.
Your name on the leaderboards. Any scanned build can be ranked, but only a verified UID puts those entries under your profile - see below.
The Pull Tracker. Import your wish history and keep pity, banner breakdowns and 50/50 records that are still there tomorrow. Signed out, there is nowhere to save any of it.
Pinned profiles. Keep the people you compare builds with one click away.
XP, levels and cosmetics. Using the site earns XP, XP earns levels, and levels unlock avatar frames, namecards and profile backgrounds. XP counts breadth, never damage - how many different characters you have put on a board, not how hard they hit - so profile level cannot be bought with constellations.
The guided tour, which saves your progress across pages, days and devices, and pays out XP when you finish it.
Verifying a UID
Linking a UID says “this is mine”. Verifying it proves it. You are given a one-time code, you paste it into your in-game Signature, and we read it back from the same public profile the scanner already reads. Nothing here ever asks for your HoYoverse login or password. Your signature is public in-game, so we can read it the same way anyone else can.
Google, Discord or email.
How do the leaderboards work?
Every ranked character has one or more scenarios - a fixed rotation, a fixed team, a fixed weapon, a fixed set of assumptions - and your build (stats, talents and artifacts) is run through that model, with the board’s own weapon swapped in, to produce a damage number. The scenario is identical for everyone on that board, so the only thing that differs between two entries is the build.
Boards are split by constellation (eidolon in Star Rail), so a C0 build is not measured against a C6 one. A board asking for C2 admits C2 and above. Not every character has a board at every constellation; some stop at C2 or lower.
You are ranked by percentile as well as by position. “Top 3%” still means the same thing as the board grows; “#12” does not.
No account needed to be ranked. Opening a UID’s Leaderboards tab scores its showcase and places the builds automatically. Verifying the UID puts your name on those entries. Browsing needs nothing at all.
Unlink a UID later and its entries stay on the board without your name, so other players’ rankings don’t shift.
What do you store?
Only what the game already publishes. Showcase characters and their gear, your in-game name and level. If it is not on your public in-game profile, it is not here.
No game credentials, ever. A UID is a public number, and verification is a code in your signature. Nothing on this site needs your account password.
Scanning someone else's UID is normal and expected - that is what a showcase is for. Anyone can scan yours too, exactly as they can in-game.
Astral Profiles are public. Username, level, badges, linked UIDs and placements are visible to anyone with the link. Nothing else about your account is.
Wish and warp history is private by default. Only you see it, unless you set that UID’s tracker to public. Your pulls also count, with no name or UID attached, in the site-wide pull statistics.
Any other questions?
Something looks wrong, a character is missing, a number does not add up - say so. This is a small site and every report gets read.
Ask on DiscordBug reports, character requests and questions about the damage numbers.
